A very modern house that takes a little nod to the past - Paterson House on the East Lothian Coast, Scotland.
Designed in 2005 by Paterson Architects, it was conceived as a contemporary interpretation of traditional rural dwellings, built to take advantage of the views towards the sea on the East Lothian Coast. The house is a timber frame structure, clad in Western red cedar, sitting atop a concrete base cut into the site and offering three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open plan living/dining/kitchen area, study, utility room and rooflights to take advanrtage of both the sun and those views.
See over the page for another view of the house and if it makes you want to head to up to the Edinburgh area, the house is for sale for around £399,000.

Designed by Jesper K. Thomsen for Normann Copenhagen, the Camping Series is a high-end design series of what tends to be disposable and foldaway.
Which means chairs, a table, a stool and a daybed in moulded beech wood (with a natural finish), full grain leather seating and high quality workmanship, as everything in the range is handmade.
The chair is above, while the daybed is over the page. Prices, as you can imagine, are high - starting at £1,090 per piece.
