Anu Penttinen's Cartoon Chicks - the latest additions to the Iittala Birds Collection

Professor Oiva Toikka designed the first of Iittala's glass birds back in 1972, kicking off the Iittala Birds collection. And it's still growing, with the latest additions coming from the Finnish designer Anu Penttinen, bringing 'pop culture' to the collection.

There are four new birds available - Cool Joe, I’m All Banans, Ippy the Hippie and Nightbird, with another two to follow. All based on tropical birds, but with a 'cartoon' look that's likely to appeal to a younger/more hip glass collector.

No news on price as yet, but expect them to be available via Iittala or Skandium in the coming weeks.
