Ribbon Coat Rack from Headsprung

The tagline on the Headsprung website for the Ribbon Coat Rack is 'function meets art' and we think they have a point. This wall mounted coat rack looks so sculptural it almost doesn't need to have a purpose, yet it can hold up to five coats and scarves.

The design was inspired by a ribbon blowing in the wind, and each rack is hand-made so no two are identical. Available in a choice of six colours, the rack costs £55 and can be bought from the Headsprung website.

Designed by Jesper K. Thomsen for Normann Copenhagen, the Camping Series is a high-end design series of what tends to be disposable and foldaway.

Which means chairs, a table, a stool and a daybed in moulded beech wood (with a natural finish), full grain leather seating and high quality workmanship, as everything in the range is handmade.

How? Well, the seat is based on a classic tractor seat, chosen for its 'ergonomic shape' and made of a colour gel coated polyester resin, while the legs are based on a three-legged milking stool, produced from oiled European oak.

The series itself isn't completely tacky, there are some pretty smart high gloss finishes for matching up your computer with your home office, but we're drawn towards the CS390, which goes for that fake crocodile skin finish with metallic trim that looks (to us) like a cheap handbag off the market - although if Sony sent us one, I'm sure we could offer a more reasoned view.

Only the US for these right now, with prices starting at $749.99 (around £450), which seems pretty reasonable for a decent notebook, especially if you love fake croc.
