Magis space age Bunky bunk beds by Marc Newson
I can't make my mind up whether these remind me of a child's toy or look like something out of a futuristic movie made in the 1970s. Or indeed, something Joe Colombo would have designed. But this is a contemporary design, known as the Magis Bunky bunk bed.
It is modular bedding, designed by Marc Newson and we presume, for children. Although we think it's wasted on kids - it just looks too cool. It's made of rotational-moulded polyethylene and available in blue and orange, with the beds available for use individually or stacked up.
All surfaces are smooth with no sharp edges, so safe to play on for children. and the material is highly durable and easy to clean. The bedding and mattress (in expanded polyurethane) is custom and included too - just as well, as it would be near impossible to get a mattress to fit you suspect.
Nest has it slightly marked down now, but prices still start at £1,365.78.
