Senses Eyes E4 suspension light by Oliver Haefeli
Not just a pretty face, the Senses Eyes E4 suspension light by Oliver Haefeli is all about craftsmanship and technology too.
It is a 12cm-square cube, meticulously finished to a precision of 1/100mm, with a layer of opal glass on the outside, along with a 5mm layer of crystal glass beneath, which creates 'unexpected and interesting' lighting effects in the contours of the cube.
It also packs sensor technology inside that detects movement of the hand and responds intuitively, while an integrated memory chip activates the last selected lighting scenario when the light is switched on again. The temperature of every single one of the 24 Philips 3W high-power LEDs is also constantly monitored, ensuring that the LEDs never reach a 'critical temperature'.
Impressive for something as simple as a light. Hence the rather high £785 price tag.
