Shanghai Trio's Electrician's bags

Vandabags

The V&A doesn't just have vintage design, it has some interesting modern items too - including these Electrician's bags from Shanghai Trio.

Shanghai Trio is the creation of French designer Virginie Fournier in collaboration with two fellow Shanghai residents - mixing the old, the new and the culture they live in. I love these satchel-like bags, ideal for your daytime essentials, with a chocie of glossy grey or plain aubergine finishes.

Both are sized at 30 x 29cm and with shoulder straps and cool string ties, priced at £65.

Look like a gangster with the gun-shaped Koffski man bag

Koffski

Admittedly you might get a tap on the shoulder (or worse) from the local police, but if you can deal with that, there's no denying that the Koffski is a stylish way to carry your essentials.

The Koffski is made of high-end leather that's undergone a special process to make it repel water or perspiration. It's also available in two shapes - number one for the 'secret agent' look and number two that's a little more wild west - each in a colour choice of leather.

Not forgetting that this is also a wallet/man bag, with room for your wallet, mobile, keys, pens and essential travel documents - although we would caution taking it to an airport. Sold in a presentation box with a unique ID code, it sells for 349 Euros.

Vivienne Westwood Opus Manifesto

Westwood_2 Ever considered paying £1400 for a book? It's the price you'll have to pay for the Vivienne Westwood Opus Manifesto, but with just 900 copies available worldwide, it could be a shrewd investment.

This hefty volume (90cm tall, 64cm wide and weighing 25kg) is being made in batches of 100, each batch with a different Westwood-designed linen cover and indiviidually numbered. Inside there are 196 pages and 97 huge Polaroid images, all taken on the Polaroid 20 x 24 Studio camera.

The images are of Vivienne's friends and family, include international celebrities and important personalities within the world of fashion, all wearing one of her creations, with each celebrity signing their own polaroid. Want names? Well, how about Helena Bonham Carter, Kate Moss, Phillip Treacy, Tim Burton, Jerry Hall, Sarah Ferguson, Naomi Campbell, Bob Geldof, Erin O'Connor and Tracy Emin.

You can order the book now from the V&A website.

Lightbulb Cufflinks - that actually light up

Lightbulb_cufflinks

I never thought we would feature a novelty cufflink on Switched On Set, but I'll make an exception for these Lightbulb Cufflinks.

Yes, they're shaped like your everyday screw-in lightbulb. But there's more than that. See that small black button on the bottom? Press it and the lightbulb will actually light up.

How long that light will last isn't clear, but at $29.95 (around £15), it's not a lot of money to find out.

Badger-free Premier shaving brush

Brush

Great news for badgers! Technology has come to the rescue and replaced the badger hair shaving brush with the Premier shaving brush.

Three years of development has created bristles as soft as pure badger, but without the need to kill any stripey creatures, In addition, the bristles on the Premier are non-absorbent, so require less shaving cream and offer up a richer lather and they're easier to clean. And the brush comes with a stand to stop is stewing in a small puddle by the sink. Which is all good news, especially for the local badger.

Available online, you can pick one up in a choice of colour for £29.95.
