Shanghai Trio's Electrician's bags

The V&A doesn't just have vintage design, it has some interesting modern items too - including these Electrician's bags from Shanghai Trio.

Shanghai Trio is the creation of French designer Virginie Fournier in collaboration with two fellow Shanghai residents - mixing the old, the new and the culture they live in. I love these satchel-like bags, ideal for your daytime essentials, with a chocie of glossy grey or plain aubergine finishes.

Both are sized at 30 x 29cm and with shoulder straps and cool string ties, priced at £65.

Supermandolini Shooting Target artwork and jewellery

We've featured Supermandolini on numerous occasions over at Retro To Go, but we think the Supermandolini Shooting Target artwork and jewellery is perhaps more suited over here.

It's certainly worthy of your attention, with a choice of poster or wide canvas print, both limited to just 100 with the framed canvas sized at 120 x 65cm and the poster at 70 x 45cm.

Alternatively, you can go for the same design as a necklace of earrings, both made of black gloss acrylic, with the necklace coming with a silver finish chain with lobster clasp. Prices are 16 Euros for the poster, 190 Euros for the canvas, 18.50 Euros for the necklace and 20 Euros for the earrings.

Brown Paper Bag - handbag made of cardboard

Quite possibly the most expensive cardboard-based item you would ever own - the Brown Paper Bag by Giles Miller.

Available as either a shoulder bag or a handbag (pictured here), these bags are hand assembled from part recycled and partly sustainably sourced cardboard, with the card cut at steep angles to leave a surface of swirls. And just in case you are worried about the rain, it is treated to be water resistant.

Finished with a leather handle and chrome detailing, the Brown Paper Bag retails for £179.95.

Vivienne Westwood Opus Manifesto

Ever considered paying £1400 for a book? It's the price you'll have to pay for the Vivienne Westwood Opus Manifesto, but with just 900 copies available worldwide, it could be a shrewd investment.

This hefty volume (90cm tall, 64cm wide and weighing 25kg) is being made in batches of 100, each batch with a different Westwood-designed linen cover and indiviidually numbered. Inside there are 196 pages and 97 huge Polaroid images, all taken on the Polaroid 20 x 24 Studio camera.

The images are of Vivienne's friends and family, include international celebrities and important personalities within the world of fashion, all wearing one of her creations, with each celebrity signing their own polaroid. Want names? Well, how about Helena Bonham Carter, Kate Moss, Phillip Treacy, Tim Burton, Jerry Hall, Sarah Ferguson, Naomi Campbell, Bob Geldof, Erin O'Connor and Tracy Emin.

Daschund Bag - take your dog into work

Fancy a pet, but don't want the mess or expense? Maybe you should invest in the Daschund Bag by Caroline Borger & Klaartje de Hartog.

Ok, it's not exactly a good substitute, but it does offer the shape and dimensions of a toy dog, even if it can't walk and bark. The bags are hand-made in a choice of leather (brown, black or red) with stitched detailing and a zip on the top to access your bits and pieces.
