Richard Lawson 9-volt light

Lawson_light Forget tea lights, this is 2008 - which means something a little more modern world is required for small-scale lighting - like the Richard Lawson 9-volt light.

The name gives it away, this is a light powered by a battery - just plug in the LED attachment and you have coloured light (from a choice of red and blue). Ok, it might look a bit DIY and not quite as bright as a naked flame, but there's no chance of someone knocking this over after a few drinks and starting a small scale fire.

Available to pre-order now from Charles and Marie, it retails for $25, which is around £13.
