Manchester's 'creative director' and of course, Factor Records designer, Peter Saville has created something uber-hip for your festive shopping list - Manchester Christmas wrapping paper.

Saville has been commissioned to design the limited edition giftwrap as part of a marketing campaign to draw Christmas shoppers into the city centre, with the colourful end result intended to ‘subtly evoke the warmth and emotion of Christmas in a contemporary way’. Instead of the usual four-colour print process, the wrapping paper uses six colours, meaning that each piece has a completely different look when wrapped around a present.

Just 5,000 tubes of the paper are being made available, each two metre roll selling for £2.99. Available from this week, you can get yours from the city's Tourist Information Centre in St Peter’s Square, Manchester City Art Gallery’s shop, the gift shop at Urbis, Visit Manchester’s Christmas market stall in Albert Square and online at Visit Manchester.
