Cyber1

In a few years time, we'll all have 3D TVs - and you might be glad you got in early with the 12.2-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot WX5 and TX9 3D compact cameras.

The WX5 has a Sony G F2.4 lens and 5x optical zoom, while the TX9 has a 4x optical zoom and a Carl Zeiss lens, with both shooting HD movies and having enogh battery power to shoots 230 shots per charge. But you really want to know about the 3D.

Cyber2

Both offer the option of taking 3D panoramic shots by taking information from up to 100 images, then combining to create a stereoscopic pair of frames which you can watch back by connecting the camera via HDMI to your 3D TV. If you have one. if you don't, there's a Sweep Multi Angle feature, which shoots a high-speed burst of fifteen frames for a 3D-style image.

Look out for both models in September if you have a 3D telly in the house (or intend getting one). The WX5 will be available in black, silver, brown, gold or violet and the TX9 in dark grey, gold or red. No prices available as yet.
