Asus Taichi - notebook meets tablet
This is bizarre, but the Asus Taichi could be a sign of the future when it comes to mobile computing.
It's a notebook or a laptop, whichever you prefer. But not your average one. As you've probably noticed, this one has a screen on the top as well, which means you can use that external touchscreen as a tablet when the notebook is closed.
But that's not all. You can use it independently, which means two people can use the same device at the same time - one on either side of the screen, if you can find a table able to accommodate that.
As for the inner workings, it has all the usual notebook bits and pieces, along with an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM, SSD storage, dual-band Wi-Fi, dual cameras and of course, those 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch screens. Despite the two screens, it's still a skinny thing too.
Downside? Just a prototype now, but one that's working and destined for market. No price or date as yet though.
