A mix of the old and the new with the Golden Half 35mm camera.

Old because obviously it uses good ol' 35mm film for capturing the snaps, but the design is very much of the modern era. Clever little thing too - allowing you to take two shots on the one frame, doubling the number of images you can get out of a 36 exposure roll of film.

There's also two shutter speeds, a hit shoe for a flash and a roll of folm thrown in too. $55 gets you one in any of the three colour combinations.

Leica V-LUX 20 compact camera unveiled

We are huge Leica fans, so we're obviously excited to see a new model - the Leica V-LUX 20.

It's a compact camera at the lower end of the pricing spectrum (at least, for Leica), but still has plenty of tasty features, including a 12.1-megapixel sensor, a 12x optical zoom lens, a built-in GPS chip for geographically tagging your snaps, 720p HD video recording, a 3-inch LCD screen, face detection, auto settings and that cool only a Leica can offer.

All of that is yours from May for £495. Or if you want extra cool, there's a stylish leather case add-on for another £70.

Sanyo Xacti CS1 camcorder hits the UK

Our favourite pocket camcorder has had an upgrade and hits the UK this very week - we're talking about the Sanyo Xacti CS1.

This pistol-style movie camera is claimed to be the 'world's smallest, lightest and thinnest Full HD camera', offering 10x zoom with a 38mm wide-angle lens, video recording in 1920 x 1080 resolution and stills from its 8-megapixel sensor.

Style meets substance and it can be yours for £249.

Pentax X90 26x optical zoom camera launches

If you really want to get up close and personal, you might want to get your hands on the newly-launched Pentax X90.

Offering up a whopping 26x optical zoom camera, but can actually do 162.5x using the Intelligent Zoom function. Other features include the Pentax-CCD-shift-type SR (Shake Reduction) system for guaranteed focus, an electronic viewfinder, HD video (720p) at 30 frames per second, HDMI out, manual and auto settings, face-detection, a 2.7-inch screen, 20 shooting modes and quirky digital filters like Toy Camera and Retro.

£329.99 is the price, look out for it at the end of March.

Samsung HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 HD camcorders

Interesting design for a useful pair of gadgets - the Samsung HMX-U20 and HMX-U15 HD camcorders.

As well as adding a bit of colour to your bag, both shoot full HD video, do time lapse recording and have built-in USB and HDMI connectivity, the U20 also offering 3x optical zoom and the ability to shoot 10 megapixel digital still images, while the U15 ditches the optical zoom, but adds a 14-megapixel still camera sensor.

No UK prices as yet, but in the US, you're looking at $229.99 and $249.99 for the U15 and U20 respectively if you need a rough guide.
