Takumi LED Watch by &design

Takumi

A confusing name because the Takumi LED Watch doesn't actually have an LED screen.

These are actually analogue watches with hands that look like a digital LED segment. Hence the name. Take your pick from five colour options, all with an ABS stainless body with urethane wrist band.

Price? £54 each.

Issey Miyake space age Hu Watch by Ross Lovegrove

Issey

A touch of 70s space in this Issey Miyake space age Hu Watch by Ross Lovegrove.

Saying that, this is a very modern design, available in two shades and said to be a watch that 'embodies the designer's philosophy that a watch 'is part of the human body'. Indeed. The dial has a slight slope on a 25 degree angle to the right, which makes the dial naturally and easily viewable, while the watch itself has a steel case, titanium frame, a silicon band, water resistance and accuracy within 20 seconds each month.

£554 is the price.

Love Knows Not watch by Mr Jones

Love

It's Valentine's Day soon, so time to buy your loved one something tasteful. If that loved one is female and in need of a watch, you could always opt for the Love Knows Not watch by Mr Jones.

Yes, themed for that 'special' day, the watch featured a random jumble of letters, but every hour those letters 'magically' form into the words 'love knows not what time is'. Clever eh? It's also limited to just 100 numbered pieces.

You can pick one up online for £135. Enter the code LKN2011 before February 14th and you'll also get free shipping.

Analarm watch by Industrial Facility

Watch

Exclusive to the Design Museum, the Analarm watch by Industrial Facility gives you a reminder of a particular time with a gentle vibration.

The face is modelled on the classic alarm clock and it does indeed feature an alarm - only this one is a vibration on the wrist, similar to mobile phone vibrations, instead of sound. Setting the alarm is simple too, just  by moving the alarm hand to the desired time and lifting the alert button.

There's also a stainless steel case and buttons with ionised plating, Japanese movement, mineral glass and calf leather band. All of that for £290 in black or white.

Paper Watch - design your own face and strap

Paper

It's not the most expensive watch you'll ever see, but the Paper Watch is one of the most fun.

On the face of it, a digital watch, showing the date, time and seconds. But  there's more to it than that - it's actually encased in tear resistant paper-style material with a matching strap that you can customise with any doodlings, designs or scrawlings you fancy. Just get our your pen and let your creativity run riot.

If you make a mistake, that's not much of a worry when the price of the watch is just £7.99.
