Nixon x Beastie Boys Time Teller Watch

Beastie1

Yes, the Beastie Boys have teamed up with Nixon for a timepiece - specifically the Nixon x Beastie Boys Time Teller Watch.

Available in four colours, the watch is anything but subtle, with a picture of Mike D in a yacht captain's uniform, with the band logo and a quote from that same Beastie on the strap.

But aside from the humour, it has a serious side too, with a percentage of profits going to a charity chosen by the band. £75.25 gets you one at Colette online. See all the colour options over the page.

Brian Catling-designed Dawn West Dust East watch by Mr Jones watches

Jones

It's a watch that 'helps us to slow down time' and it's called the Dawn West Dust East watch by Mr Jones watches.

Designed by artist and poet Brian Catling it uses a single 'eye' that makes one revolution every 12 hours, with the colours underneath changing from black to silver to gold to red. The idea is to be less worried about time - knowing the time of day without the specifics.

It's a limited edition of 100 and is available now, priced at £145.

Untrod Sol space age solar watch

Sol

It's not a vintage design, this is a modern piece with one eye on the past - the Untrod Sol solar watch.

The work of designer Shin Azumi, it's your average digital watch, albeit with a 70s-style space age twist. But there's that second window, exposing a solar cell that keeps the juice topped up, just as long as you live somewhere that sees the sun,

Available online at Charles and Marie, it sells for 109 Euros. Note that a number of other colours are also available.

Off Axis Watch

Axis

For those who look at the world from a slightly different angle comes the Off Axis Watch.

It's actually quite practical - meaning you move your arm less to check the time, due to the adjustment of the face to something more suited to your eyes.

But there is are downsides. Firstly, it only comes in black and perhaps more importantly, it's designed for left-handed wearers only. But on the plus side, it has a comfortable silicone strap and a very precise quartz movement. Yours for 210 Euros.
